Used them diving and fishing . Great footwear!
Right on—that’s what the Maritime Mid was made for. Built to thrive in and out of the water, from dive ops to casting lines. Glad they’re proving their worth for you. Thanks for choosing ALTAMA®.
Love the boot, wish it came with side zip.
This is the second pair of Maritime - Mid height shoes that I have purchased... that should imply that I like them (I also own a pair of low, 9 wide). They do seem a bit on the narrow side for a "wide EE" shoe... The heel seems a little long for my foot and so I have settled a little smaller on the shoe size. I absolutely love the amount of airflow and breathability of these shoes; they dry quickly when wet but it should be noted that they are not even remotely water resistant. My feet typically get too hot in most shoes but the maritimes mitigate that quite well. I have noticed that the non-metallic drains are not particularly resistant to abrasion and my older pair now takes on some larger bits of dirt and sticks. The sole and insole are very firm (I both like and dislike this); if you are standing on concrete all day this is not the most comfortable, however, if you are doing any weight lifting in your "everyday footwear" it's great. I have noted recently that the insoles are actually porous... things got a bit stinky after a couple years of use in and out of streams, creeks, rivers, ponds and pools.... they do clean up well though. The sole of these defies logic and maybe even physics; it almost seems that they have better traction on wet surfaces than on dry ones...? I'm not sure how that works but I can confidently cross streams and even wet tile floors without issue. All in all, I hardly wear anything else. Great shoe, fair price.
Solid field report. The Maritime runs narrower by design to stay locked down in amphibious ops, so some will size up a half step for the right fit. For odor control, pull the insoles, rinse with fresh water, and let them air dry—mild soap or a light vinegar wash works best. Glad to hear they’re still your everyday go-to. Boots built for the grind, not the shelf.
Great shoes, this is my thing pair. I wear them everyday.
Respect, George. Third pair and still running them daily—that’s the kind of wear we build for. Appreciate you lacing up with Altama® and making us part of your every day grind. Stay mission-ready.
