This is my 3rd purchase of Altama black jungle boots. The first pair was in the 90s when serving in the national guard. The second pair was bought sometime in the late 2000s. I just bought my third pair. I believe I purchased my first pair at a post PX. I do not remember where I purchased the second pair. My experience is Altama makes the best military spec jungle boots. I really wish they would bring back the olive drab original jungle boot style. I wear a size 9 and have a narrow heal. Therefore I have always been surprised how great a regular 9 fits. They fit like a glove and are extremely comfortable. And as any experienced boot wearer knows - they get better over time. My only complaint with this latest pair is with the canvas Cordura sides. They make a horrible crunchy sound when walking. Not the leather but the canvas uppers. I'm not sure why the manufacture switched to this newer material, but they are noisy. My hope is that over time these soften up and the noise goes away. Other than that these are great boots.
