Better than expected even. Wide actually means wide, size is accurate, materials are awesome, no complaints
That’s what we like to hear—better than expected and no complaints. We’ll take that field report any day.
The ALTAMA® Maritime has a deliberately secure, mission-driven fit, so getting the right width makes all the difference. Glad the Wide gave you the room you needed while keeping the fit dialed in.
Thanks for calling out the materials, sizing, and build quality. Now get ’em dirty. 🫡
I really like the shoes. I am not a fan of the rubber insoles though. I know that’s what makes them drain water and dry quickly. They weren’t comfortable. I swapped out the insoles with a regular pair and I absolutely love them.
Thanks for the solid feedback. You’ve got it—the Maritime’s removable impermeable footbed is purpose-built for amphibious use, so it won’t absorb water and works with the boot’s drainage system to get water out and dry fast. That mission-specific setup can feel firmer underfoot than a traditional cushioned insole.
If you’re primarily running them on dry land, swapping in a more cushioned footbed is a great way to dial them in for your use. Just keep in mind that a traditional absorbent insole can slow drainage and drying if you take them into the water.
Glad you found the setup that works for your mission and are loving the ALTAMA® Maritime. Run ’em hard. 🫡
I have two pairs, one for patrol and one for urban SWAT operations. I absolutely enjoy wearing them, they are comfortable and quiet when walking on hard surfaces, good grip/traction for ladder work and running on un even terrain. I pair them with merino wool socks to help even more with moisture wicking. I really wished you made a full 100% water proof version for the winter months and just working in the sand and tide line. I don’t swim or wear fins in my line of work but if I did I’d probably wear these. Half my team have already purchased a pair and also rely on them as their primarily Urban operation footwear.
Keep it up. Make a full water proof ankle height version and take more of our money.
Thanks.
Thank you for putting the ALTAMA® Maritime to work where it counts. Patrol, urban SWAT operations, ladder work, hard surfaces, uneven terrain—you’re giving them the kind of field time they were made for. And hearing that half your team has picked up a pair and made them primary operational footwear? That means a hell of a lot to us.
You’re also spot-on about the water piece. The Maritime is an amphibious tactical boot, engineered to drain water quickly and dry fast rather than keep water out. That design makes it at home around the tide line and in waterborne operations, but we hear you loud and clear on wanting a fully waterproof, ankle-height tactical version for cold-weather patrol and wet winter conditions. We’ll make sure that feedback gets in front of Product Development.
Two pairs and half the team converted? Sounds like we already took a decent amount of your money. 😏
Thanks for trusting ALTAMA® when it’s time to gear up. Stay quiet, stay sure-footed, and stay safe out there. 🫡
As an avid whitewater paddler and guide, this is the only shoe that has lasted longer than one season. From snow covered portages and approaches to weeks of never drying out, these shoes have stood up to a range of abuse. Better designs and better construction than anything on the paddling market.
Thank you for the excellent field report, Stuart. The ALTAMA® Maritime continues to break barriers with it's purpose built design, proving itself for amphibious missions in and outside the tactical community. We appreciate you putting it through its paces and letting us know that we have hit the mark for you. Keep it up 🤙
Too tight
Thanks for giving the ALTAMA® Maritime a shot. The tighter fit is intentional—the Maritime was originally engineered for amphibious operations with a snug, secure fit to help minimize foot movement and friction, particularly when worn sockless in the water.
That mission-specific fit isn't for everyone, especially if you're wearing socks or prefer more room. Depending on your preference, going up a half size, choosing a Wide, or both can make a significant difference.
