I first noticed these Altama shoes after spotting Tom Cruise wearing them in a Mission Impossible movie. I tracked them down using Google Lens and ordered a pair. I liked the fit and feel so much that I ended up ordering a second pair.
The shoes are made from a very sturdy nylon that’s comfortable and breathes well. It feels like it will hold up to abrasion and long-term wear without being stiff or hot. The soles appear to be designed for light desert conditions—they don’t have an aggressive lug pattern, which means they don’t trap a lot of dirt or debris.
Out of the box, the liners are pretty thin and wimpy, but replacing them with better insoles made a big improvement in fit and comfort. I’ve been alternating between the two pairs and wearing them almost every day all winter.
These don’t feel like big, clunky boots at all. They feel more like basketball or athletic shoes, which makes foot placement very precise. Because of that, I even wear them to the gym. Overall, they’ve been comfortable, versatile, and durable enough that I’d buy them again.
Sometimes good gear has a way of showing up in unexpected places. Glad you found us and that the comfort, durability, and lightweight feel have kept you coming back for a second pair. Appreciate the thoughtful review. — Sarge

what an absolute beast of a shoe. I no longer wear anything else to ruck in.
That’s the Maritime Mid doing what it was built for—a high-level amphibious operator boot engineered for all-terrain performance. We are proud to know it’s delivering on durability, stability, and mission-ready comfort.
Appreciate you putting it to work and trusting it in the stack.
Perfect fit, very comfortable. Really glad i got the multicam this time. Fast shipping. Good communication.
Perfect fit. All-day comfort. Multicam was the right call. When the Maritime shows up fast and performs exactly as expected, that’s the standard we aim for every time.
Appreciate the trust and the feedback—we’re proud to have you in the stack.
They are well built boots if your feet fit them. My feet are too wide for them and on a 6 mile ruck my feet were screaming at me from touching the insides of the boots with every step. M Beware if you have wide feet, just stay away and go for a different option.y feet were sweating a bit more than usual but that could have been a number of things. Reached out to return and they were not willing to which is understandable, but always rough to pay a brand new price tag for a one ruck boot.
Thank you for the honest feedback. Fit is critical, and you’re right—the Maritime is built on a narrower, low-volume last by design. It’s intended to deliver a secure, locked-in feel for maritime and waterborne use, which can make it a tough fit for wider feet or long rucks on dry ground.
For wide-footed rucking and extended mileage, we recommend the Helios or Apex boots. Both offer more forefoot room, improved breathability, and cushioning better suited for distance under load.
We understand how frustrating it can be when a boot isn’t the right match after real-world use, and we appreciate you sharing your experience to help others choose the right option. Our Mission Support team is always available to help with fit guidance before your next purchase.
